"Mope Meal"
I named this oatmeal recipe after the way my granddaughter said it when she was little After I started eating this, my family started coming around saying "I want some". Of course, I'd made plenty!
All my recipes use organic ingredients whenever possible.
Basic Recipe
Good quality oatmeal. (I buy mine in bulk at my local co-op}2 Tablespoons {or to taste} Magic Mix**
fresh fruit (I like blueberries and bananas}
Slivered almonds, or any nut you prefer}
PURE 100 % maple syrup
Almond milk, or milk of your choice
Make according to package directions. Top with the fruit and nuts. I like to "float" the milk on top. Add a little maple syrup so it floats on the milk. Make it pretty. Dig in!
Notice that I did not include measurements for fruit, milk, syrup and nuts.
Over The Top Mope meal
Good quality oatmeal and/or Cream of BuckwheatRice & Shine hot cereal* and/or
2Tablespoons (or to taste) Magic Mix**
fresh fruit (I like blueberries and bananas}
Slivered almonds, or any nut you prefer}
pure maple syrup
Almond milk, or milk of your choice
For every 2 servings you make of oatmeal, add 1 serving of Rice & Shine.Follow the recipe for the amount of water added on the package. If it absorbs and it's not done, add more water a little at a time until the consistency is the way you like it. This makes the oatmeal "puffy". YUM!! Top with the fruit and nuts. I like to "float" the milk on top. Add maple syrup so it floats on the milk. Make it pretty.Dig in!
Notice that I did not include measurements for fruit and nuts.
*Rice & Shine is a brown rice hot cereal available at healthy markets.**Magic Mix
This is a combination of equal parts:

Milled Chia {must be milled}
Hemp heats.
Mix and keep in a jar in the fridge.
This has a wonderful nutty flavor and I add a little to pretty much everything I I cook or bake. This is loaded with omegas and a host of other amazing things. I even carry some in my purse when I go out.
